love others as you love yourself
If we are to love others as we love ourselves it got me thinking, “What if you don’t love yourself very well?” How many of us are able to say we fully love ourselves? Not just the Sunday best side of ourselves, but the middle of an argument part, the disappointed with how life has turned out part, the angry part? Which made me start to wonder about this second commandment chosen by Jesus. Maybe it’s way more layered, in meaning and context, than it first appears?
