It’s quite a thin line to walk, from desiring to reflect the heart of Jesus everywhere you go, whilst resisting striving your face off. The only way you can do that, being salt and light, being his hands and feet, is from a posture of surrender. Letting Him do the work in you from the inside out. Letting Him prune, refine, squish and press. Chop bits off, reveal bits, heal bits, encourage and lead from the inside out. It’s the only way.
